Dokdo Restaurant Menu – click here

From having a Korean mother and incessantly talking about Korean food, many of my friends have asked me “Where can I find good Korean food around here?” … “I’m craving Korean barbecue… where can I get some?”

Dokdo is by far and away the best Korean restaurant somewhat close to Aviano. By Google Maps, it takes approximately 1hr 5min transit and it’s on the way to Padova. So a good itinerary for a Saturday would be to go see Padova in the mid-morning and stop by Dokdo for tasty evening Korean meal.

My family of four took one look at the menu and we all immediately started salivating. Sensations from just walking in: I could feel heat from table grills, hear the hustle-bustle of the kitchen, smell the glorious pungency of aged kimchi, and see heaps of meat sizzling in front of drooling Korean tourists tired and hungry from a day of sightseeing.

Between the four of us we ordered:
(1) nakji bokkeum (spicy stir-fried octopus)
(2) bibimbap (oven hot stone bowl with rice, veggies, beef and egg)
(3) kimbap (korean equivalent of sushi without any raw ingredients)
(4) yukaejang (rich spicy beef soup with hunks of beef and mountain vegetables)

All of this was served with about 10 side dishes (in korean: banchan). It was all so deliciously satisfying. I never wanted to leave.

If you like spicy food and are a little adventurous…. Eat. at. Dokdo.

One last thing… it’s important. Because there are loads of Korean tourists that come through this restaurant and because it’s somewhat far away from Aviano, call for a reservation.

  1. Great review. Hearing good things about this place in general let alone top Korean food anywhere in the area. Once I’m settled in I’ll look to make the trip and see for myself.
