Bites on the Barcis: Osteria Ponte Antoi

Several weeks ago while making a visit up to Lake Barcis to attend a stand-up paddleboard race event, I made the decision to find a place to get some grub as I have never eaten in the area before. Knowing this Osteria was right on the edge of the lake made for a logical pick to try out and I am sure glad I did as this place is a gold mine for good eats and drinks for any and all taking in the splendor of Lago Di Barcis. Let me show you why this is so.

A Saturday afternoon about 1145am I roll into Osteria Ponte Antoi and find the venue hopping busy inside and out. They have ample outside seating for the many cyclist and motorbikes that pass through on weekends. It comes with a pristine lakeside view as well so its no question why the outside patio is the place to find a seat during your meal.

The inside is no less attractive with 3 areas of dining space. The backroom for large groups and event RSVPs, the large main central room and the smaller side space near the bar/counter.

Even with the place busy and with a short wait, I got lucky being solo and got a seat right inside the bar/counter-side at a table for two with a window right next to my table. As soon as I was seated I was able to place my order. The menu is not huge but what is offered looked stellar and being in prime view of the kitchen entrance, I got a clear view of every dish coming out to hungry patrons and wow….one of each, please!

You can see below what I settled on and I must say, pleased would be an understatement. Filling, delicious, flavorful and fresh. Each term applied generously to these selections. I suggest anyone give these a go when dining here.

No wine on this visit reluctantly, as I still had training plans at the gym not long after so I held off. The wine list and menu prices, however, were affordable and varied. All the major local wines names and styles were accounted for.

Oh and for the sweet tooth… although I did not indulge myself {again reluctantly} you should opt-in for any of the made-in-house dessert cakes they have on display. Good luck picking out just one.

Prices are are a good value for what you get portion and quality-wise. Service is kind, fast and accurate. The venue is very open, welcoming and enjoyable. Busy and a little loud but it fits the area and the traffic of the Barcis area on a weekend. People know a good place when they find it and this seems to be that place for Barcis residents and passer-byers.
